The Screening Conference serves to improve United States and international
policies which attempt to solve environmental problems. This annual event
is organized by the Exchange, a tax-exempt non-governmental organization
which operates in the public interest and has been organizing issue-oriented
screening conferences and related research projects since 1986. Participation
in the conference is by invitation only, though no fees are required.
The International Film and Television Exchange presents a conference
in Washington DC and New York with outstanding expert panels and recent
documentaries, television programs and feature films covering environmental
issues. Selected productions and topical seminars address political, economic,
and social issues raised by environmental problems and their possible
solutions.
Among the themes covered by the 2000 New York Screening Days are
- Bio-diversity
- The environment and sustainable development
- Climate changes and the globalization of ecological problems
- Public and private initiatives
