U.S./China Environmental Education Exchange
Day 11: Washington D.C.Day 11 D.C. Photos | Introduction to Exchange
Just down the street is the White House where the group enjoyed a tour. After many pictures for scrapbooks, they were treated to a delicious Chinese lunch. The afternoon was hosted by Dr. Judith Garcia, a leader in America for distance learning technology. The first stop was the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. This is a magnet school for teenagers that excel in science and technology. The group was allowed to sit in on a few classes to see lessons and classrooms in action. Next was a tour of the Chapel Square Center, which develops and produces distance learning courses plus video-based and computer-supported enrichment programming for students. There are recording studios for recording live and taped courses. They also offer facilities for teachers to create their own multimedia teaching materials. Day 11 D.C.
