Day 4: Photos: Baird and Duncan Schools

Day 4 School Journal | Introduction to Exchange

Welcome back to Baird Middle School!

Students getting ready to go to class.

The buses start to arrive.

The host families bring the Chinese students to school with their own children.

The oldest Chinese student, the teachers, and the officials join Diane Parrish for a tour of Duncan High School.

Duncan has an extensive agricultural program. This is a botanical garden that the students designed, planted, and maintain. The program started 27 years ago. They decide what plants to put in and design the irrigation system. The forest represents all the ecosystems in California, from grasslands to scrub brush to alpine forest.
