First stop of the day was the Mariposa Grove of the Giant Sequoia
trees. |

The seed cones only open during a forest fire. This tree was burned. |

The "bachelor and the three graces" is one larger tree with
three smaller trees next to it.

Standing
in front of the Grizzly Giant. This tree has a limb that is six feet
in diameter. |
 |
 |

This tree is 2000 years old, and it is not nearly as big as the other
trees in the Mariposa Grove. |

Posing in front of half dome on a beautiful day. |
 |
 |

Half of the group went down the Four Mile Trail. |

It is a beautiful and enjoyable hike. |

This is a reproduction of an Awahnee village. The people of the village
lived on Black Oak acorns. There were teepee-like huts, a sweat lodge,
and a religious hut. |

Happy birthday, Wei!! |
