The District Commissioner Same, with the District Development officers from all three districts surrounding MGR (Same, Lushoto and Mwanga), and the Wildlife Division management held a workshop on tourism in MGR and concluded that they supported low impact photographic tourism, including casual and weekend tourism. In October 99, Abercrombie and Kent also sent in representatives to look at the potential for a top end of the market tented camp and/or mobile camps.
